CanForm Structures constructed this building for the Kiwi Span franchise in Christchurch. It featured a large waste pit in the building which required dewatering to construct.

The floor in this building had to fall into for separate sumps. This meant much care had to be taken when forming the floors as we still had the stitch area around the panels to place after they were lifted and propped.

The lack of available space in Trans Pacific’s in this busy operational yard and the lack of a flat slab area in the main building meant we had to stack cast the panels in confined area to the side of the building foot print. The nearby high voltage power lines also posed a challenge. Senior Foreman John Kerr’s practicability and knowledge proved invaluable on this confined site.
